ORLAND — A 19-year-old West Rockport man was listed in serious condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon after a single-car accident on Route 1 that morning.

Jonathan Lincoln was driving a 1980 Volvo toward Ellsworth shortly after 10 a.m. when he lost control on the icy road and the car struck trees, said Sgt. Pat Kane of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Lincoln was taken by Bucksport Ambulance to the Bangor hospital for scalp and forehead injuries. Kane had not been able to interview the victim to determine whether he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The vehicle was considered a total loss.
