Ski Maine announces area conditions

PORTLAND – The Ski Maine Association is reporting that Maine’s ski areas received less damage from the recent ice storm due to high elevations and that these mountains will be open for action when power is restored.

Each of the association’s 12 ski areas received accumulations of snow, sleet and ice from the storm, providing a net gain of snow cover on trails and slopes. Skiiers should contact individual areas for conditions.

Accumulations for the mountains are as follows: Eaton Mountain 8-10 inches, Sugarloaf/USA 4-6, Saddleback 4-6, Big Squaw Mountain 4-6, New Hermon Mountain 2-4, Black Mountain 2-4, Titcomb Mountain 1-3, Sunday River 1-3, Shawnee Peak 1-2, Mount Abram 1-2, Camden Snow Bowl 1-2, Lost Valley 1 inch.
