GREENVILLE — The Greenville Economic Development Committee on Thursday adopted an aggressive work plan for the year.
The committee, which consists of residents, town officials, Chamber representatives and business leaders, meets monthly to devote its energies to improving the community.
Among the projects adopted include the continuation of the downtown improvement project. The town received a $400,000 grant last year to make improvements in and around Thoreau Park. The project is currently in the design phase.
The group will continue its participation in the Piscataquis County Economic Development program. While it is a countywide effort, it is the result of a combining of efforts between the Southern Piscataquis County Chamber of Commerce and Greenville’s economic development programs.
