PUC to hold forum on deregulation

BELFAST — The Maine Public Utilities Commission will hold a public forum at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library on High Street to answer questions about the two major changes for Maine consumers — the deregulation of the electricity and telephone industries.

PUC officials also will answer questions about the price and quality of water service, and the effects on consumers of the closing of Maine Yankee.

The meetings are not intended for discussion of individual billing or service problems, but such comments are invited.
