PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Center of the Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community is accepting nominations from across Aroostook County for its 1999 “Celebrating Women of Aroostook” calenders. County residents are asked to nominate an outstanding woman within their family or community and to submit their nominations to MCWWC, 33 Edgemont Drive, Presque Isle 04769.
A selection committee will choose 12 women for the 1999 calendar based on achievement in politics, the arts, farming, parenting, education, community contributions, business, strength of character, courage through adversity and hard times, inspiration to others and uniqueness as a role model. Nominations should be no more than one typed page and contain the following information:
Name, address and telephone of the person submitting the nomination.
Name, address and telephone number of the nomineee. Include approximate age. (Must be resident of Aroostook County).
Typed narrative describing why the nominee would be deserving of this recognition.
The women selected for the 1999 calendar project will be honored at a celebration on the Northern Maine Technical College campus during National Women’s History Month in late March. Nominations are due by Feb. 25.
