ROCKLAND — In a plea agreement in Knox County Superior Court on Friday, a Rockland man received a four-year jail sentence for cocaine trafficking. Justice William Broderick suspended all but six months of the sentence.
Bruce Wellman, 47, and his wife, Judy, were charged with trafficking in cocaine from their Linden Street home, where both were arrested Aug. 3. Judy Wellman’s trial has been scheduled for Jan. 13.
Wellman also forfeited $3,140 in cash found in the house during the arrest. Wellman initially said the cash was in the house to finance his fish-buying business. In a plea agreement made before trial, Wellman admitted the charge and forfeited the money.
In another Friday sentencing, Justice Broderick sentenced Broderic C. Baker, 37, of Rockland to 10 years in prison for six counts of gross sexual assault. The charges ranged from 1991 to 1995 and involved a female under the age of 14.
Baker was convicted of the charges by a jury last month.
