DOVER-FOXCROFT — Womancare/Aegis Association has added a toll-free crisis hot line number to help meet the needs of residents of Piscataquis, southwestern Penobscot and eastern Somerset counties dealing with issues related to domestic abuse. The hot line — 1-888-564-8165 — will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In addition to the hot line, Womancare also offers short-term crisis intervention; outreach offices in Dexter and Greenville; advocacy in court matters and with other social service agencies; assistance with protection-from-abuse orders; support groups; children’s programming; transitional housing; temporary emergency shelter; community education; and information and referrals to area services.
