ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Office of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a program on what the Internet can do for small businesses from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Hancock County Extension Office.
The program, “The Internet: A Marketing Tool for Small Business,” is designed to help participants become confortable with new technology. Participants will learn about the equipment needed and local sources for technical support. Presenters for the program will share a variety of practical ways small businesses can use the Internet to research their markets, check out the competition and reach potential new markets.
Space is limited to 15 participants in order to allow for individual attention and a chance for everyone to actually “surf the net.” A $2 donation is required to help cover the cost of printed materials and refreshments. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch. Registration is required by Thursday, Oct. 2. For more information or to register, call the Hancock County office at 667-8212 or 1-800-287-1479.
