PITTSFIELD — A 23-year-old man was charged Tuesday night with furnishing liquor to a 16-year-old boy.
Patrick Harris of Lancey Street was summoned by Pittsfield police Officer Jason Richards after Richards received a complaint of an intoxicated juvenile on Main Street.
Richards brought the drunken teen-ager to the police station and there discovered who had provided the boy with the alcohol.
The officer would not confirm whether the teen was part of a larger group of intoxicated teen-agers celebrating the end of school by drinking on Paradise Island at Manson Park. Witnesses reported seeing the youngsters passing a bottle and later stumbling through the park. One young man was holding onto a fence as he became ill.
No one who saw this activity called the police, according to Richards and police logs.
The teen-ager’s parents were notified, and he was turned over to them.
