I read with pleasure recently a statistic showing Maine is the fifth most popular state to move to.
But having read it in USA Today, one wonders if too much immigration is such a good thing. Will Maine one day be as culturally diverse as New York City?
To critics who say, “Where would this country be if the Native Americans had stopped the Pilgrims and others?,” I say the Native American would still have clean water, abundant buffalo, clear air, and would not be living as a low-class citizen on a reservation located in a country he used to own. My point being most illegal immigrants are living better than the really true Americans.
I just hope Maine doesn’t lose everything that the Native Americans did. Right now, we have everything they had. Let’s keep it. Frank Slason Jefferson
