BANGOR — The Penquis Community Action Program is accepting applications for fuel assistance, by appointment.
Applicants must have Social Security numbers and provide birth dates of all household members, names of landlords, copies of recent electric bills, and proof of income.
Those who lived in subsidized housing last year where heat was included with rent, and who received a $1 benefit, should not reapply this year, Penquis officials said. Those who did not live in subsidized housing with heat last year should reapply this year.
Households in subsidized housing and who did not receive fuel assistance last year may apply to preserve their Food Stamp benefit, which is linked with the fuel assistance program.
