SAD 25 board selects Katahdin High principal

SHERMAN STATION — The SAD 25 board voted 8-1 Monday night to hire Kendall A. Olsen of Lincoln as the new principal at Katahdin High School.

Olsen will replace Ann Davis, who has taken over as the administrative assistant to the superintendent of schools in charge of federal grants and projects. Olsen is expected to begin work around Aug. 1.

Olsen is currently employed in SAD 3 in Unity, where he is principal at Mount View Junior High. He has also served as an assistant principal in the district, and as a guidance counselor in the Easton and East Millinocket school systems. He also taught mathematics in SAD 67 in Lincoln and at Lee Academy.

He received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Maine 1978, a master’s degree in education from the university in 1986 and a certificate of advanced studies there in 1989. He also graduated from the Maine Academy of School Leadership in 1993.
