Ellsworth store backs support for nonprofits

ELLSWORTH — The Maine Coast Mall Shop ‘n Save Food and Drug Superstore is holding “Community Appreciation Days” through Sunday, June 23, as a way for patrons to support local nonprofit groups and celebrate the store’s 30th anniversary.

The family event will raise money for local groups: the Ellsworth Free Clinic on Thursday, Drug Awareness and Resistance Education today, the Next Step on Saturday, and Downeast AIDS Network on Sunday.

State Sen. Jill Goldthwait will get a dunking in the dunk tank today, as will Ellsworth High School principal Lee Beal and Ellsworth Police Chief Albert Carter. A flea market will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
