DETROIT — Detroit nomination papers will be available starting Jan. 6 at the town office for 11 positions, including first selectman for a three-year term.
Other positions include town clerk, tax collector, treasurer and sexton, all for one-year terms. Also, one member of the Parks and Recreation Committee, three-year term; one member of the Cemetery Committee, three-year term; one member of the Budget Committee, three-year term; one member of the Planning Board, three-year term; one associate Planning Board member, three-year term; and one member of the Septic Waste Disposal Site Committee, three-year term.
All nomination papers must be filed at the town office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16.
The Budget Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at the town hall to review and make recommendations on the town’s 1996 proposed budget. All articles to be included in this budget and the 1996 warrant must be submitted to the selectmen by Tuesday, Jan. 16.
The town meeting has been set for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, with elections being held the day before from 1 to 7 p.m.
