Fort Kent hospital granted accreditation

FORT KENT — The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations has accredited the Northern Maine Medical Center, noting its compliance with nationally recognized health care standards.

The commission, formed in 1951 to improve national health care, performed an on-site survey of the Fort Kent hospital in May.

John Clem, director of the Joint Commission, said the NMMC is focusing on the most challenging goal, “to continously raise quality to higher levels.”
