Tales of early Dexter to be focus of reading

DEXTER — Memorable stories of Dexter will take center stage at the First Universalist Church of Dexter at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20, with a staged reading of David Greenham’s original play, “Two Pumps in the Parlor.”

The funny and entertaining play has been written over the past year by Greenham, a Dexter playwright, in honor of the Abbot Memorial Library centennial this year.

The May 20 staged reading will feature local performers Fran Field, Jeri Pitcher, Ed Hummel, Eric Boothroyd and Greenham and is presented free of charge. Donations accepted during the show will be used to present a full production of the play, which will be directed by Don Thibodeau later this summer.
