BAR HARBOR — The Jackson Laboratory has donated more than $7,000 worth of laboratory equipment for Maine high school science classrooms under a collaborative effort, “Project Maine Organizations Underwriting Science Education.”
U.S. Department of Education figures show that a quarter of high school seniors enrolled in science courses have never performed an in-class experiment, and many Maine science and biology classes lack basic supplies such as test tubes, flasks, beakers and more sophisticated equipment.
