DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Maine Division of American Cancer Society will hold an orientation meeting to form a Piscataquis County Unit board of directors at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at SeDoMoCha Middle School in Dover-Foxcroft.

Chris Olsen, senior executive director for northern Maine, said he had more than 12 people express an interest in serving on such a board and he hoped they would become involved with the programs of the American Cancer Society.

The society is the only nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, service and advocacy.
