Federal regulations topic of hearing today

BANGOR — The impact of federal regulations on people’s lives will be the subject of a public hearing of the Governmental Affairs Oversight Subcommittee at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13, in Bangor City Hall.

U.S. Sen. William Cohen will hold the hearing, which will feature a panel of Maine residents describing their experiences and offering their views on improving the regulatory process.

Scheduled participants include John Melrose, commissioner of the Maine Department of Transportation; Mickey Kuhns, Department of Environmental Protection; and John McCurdy, former owner of a fish company put out of business by the demands of federal regulations.
