MADAWASKA — A young St. David man was listed in serious condition Friday in a Bangor hospital, a day after he was injured in a snowmobile accident on Long Lake.
Jeremy Pelletier, 19, was not wearing a helmet when the snowmobile he was operating struck an unknown object on the lake in the township of Madawaska, according to Game Warden Chuck Richard of Fort Kent. Pelletier was thrown from the vehicle when it rolled over, Richard said.
Pelletier received head injuries and was taken to the Fort Kent hospital and later was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Richard said.
A passenger on the snowmobile, Elias Fournier, 19, who lives on Long Lake, also was thrown from the vehicle but was not injured, according to the game warden.
