AUGUSTA — Maine’s unemployment rate dropped by 0.7 percentage point in November, the state Labor Department said.
Maine’s jobless rate, adjusted to take into account seasonal changes in the labor picture, dropped to 6.5 percent, which translates into 39,700 unemployed Mainers during November.
Maine’s rate was higher than that of other New England states reporting seasonally adjusted rates for November. Vermont’s rate was 4.3 percent, while Massachusetts reported 5.6 percent, the same as the national rate.
