Man convicted of 1993 assault on officer

DOVER-FOXCROFT — A Dover-Foxcroft man who allegedly assaulted a police officer a year ago last October was found guilty in 13th District Court Wednesday of aggravated assault, assault on an officer, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

Sentencing for Terry Levensalor, 36, was delayed until a presentence report could be completed by the probation officer.

Levensalor was inebriated when he kicked Dale “Chip” Clukey Jr. in the knee area in October 1993.

Clukey, a deputy with the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department, had responded to a call about a drunken driver who was operating a vehicle off Pine Street on Route 7.

Clukey, who caught up with the vehicle in question and observed the driver making erratic movements while driving at 15 mph, arrested Levensalor.

As Levensalor was being assisted into the back seat of the police cruiser, he kicked Clukey in the knee, severely injuring him.it.

Clukey has had four operations on his leg and expects another soon.
