Pete Warner has retaken the lead after seven weeks of picking high school and college games on the strength of a 16-4 week.
Warner holds a two-game margin over Larry Mahoney, who also posted 16-4, and Andrew Neff.
Another game back is John Nash, who is trying to win his third straight Forecast crown.
Joni Averill put up the best numbers last week, a 17-3 effort.
Last week’s guest, Kim Rosen of Bucksport, was 14-6 in her bid to catch guest leader John Holyoke of Brewer, who was 18-2.
This week’s guest is Leo Pelleriti of Orono.
Pelleriti teaches history at Orono High School and for the last 10 years has coached the Red Riots baseball team, winning last year’s state Class B championship. He also coached the football team for four years in the 1980s.
A native of Watertown, Mass., Pelleriti graduated from Widener College in Chester, Pa. He later received his master’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.
He lives in Orono with his wife Gloria. The Pelleritis children are John, Jennifer, and Zac – all former Orono athletes.
