KidCare to offer parents photos for ID program

ELLSWORTH — Down East Family YMCA is holding a family day Saturday, Oct. 29, to offer parents free photographs of their children under the KidCare personal safety identification program.

The Y’s child care center will hold Magical Madcap Musical Chairs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Halloween bizarre will feature other children’s games, fun food, face painting and more.

The KidCare program will offer parents tips on child safety and a free photograph of their child from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The photos meet the standard requirements of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Volunteers will weigh and measure each child and guide families through the identification program.

Parents will need to know their child’s Social Security number, blood type, current medications, allergies, and the name and phone number of their physician and dentist.

A police cruiser, a firetruck and an ambulance will be on display for viewing and touring.

KidCare is being sponsored locally by the Ellsworth Rotary Club, Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth Police Department and Down East Family Y.
