WATERVILLE — The Friends of Art at Colby College will sponsor a bus trip on Tuesday, Nov. 15, for an architectural tour of the city and a guided tour of a still-life at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
In the morning, the group will take a two-hour bus tour of the city to view buildings designed by architects Charles Bullfinch and I.M. Pei. A 30-minute walking tour of Beacon Hill is included.
In the afternoon, the group will take a guided tour of the museum’s special exhibit “Grand Illusions: Four Centuries of Still-Life Painting,” which includes works from the Baroque masters to the Impressionists, from Gaugin and Matisse to Georgia O’Keefe.
The bus to Boston will leave at 7 a.m. from the Roberts Union parking lot at Colby College in Waterville and return to Colby by 10:30 p.m.
The cost of the trip is $40, which includes transportation, admission to the museum and both tours. Food service is available at the museum or participants may bring a lunch.
