Crisis intervention team seeks donations in boy’s memory

UNION — The Community Crisis Intervention Team is soliciting donations in memory of Christopher Vose, the 12-year-old boy who died by accidental hanging last Sunday.

Ralph Miller, pastor of the People’s Church, said Vose’s accidental death stunned the community. “We thought it would be well to do something in his memory — to console his family and his classmates.”

Miller said, “The school initiated the team to come into being to relate to any situation where we feel there is a crisis or a general concern to the community. We feel Christopher’s death is one of those times.”

A state police investigation of Vose’s death revealed that he apparently became entangled while playing with a cross-tie strap which holds a horse’s bridle. The accident happened in the Vose family’s barn Sunday afternoon.

Donations may be sent to the Community Crisis Intervention Team at P.O. Box 105, Union 04862.
