Keys: Pitching and defense should dominate as NAC play begins, featuring some of the league’s best pitchers square off. Maine has backed Smith and Harrington with 4.5 runs per game, while BU is averaging 6.3 runs, more than enough for West and Tomasoff, who have allowed only 10 earned runs between them in 165 innings. West has earned three straight NAC Pitcher of the Week awards, striking out 31 in 20 innings last week. The Terriers took three of four, including the NAC title game, from Maine a year ago.
