PORTLAND — A Wales man convicted of rape, burglary and kidnapping in an attack on a Farmington Falls woman lost his appeal to the state supreme court on Wednesday.
Michael J. Swan appealed the convictions and an order denying his motion for a new trial, but the Maine Supreme Judicial Court rejected his arguments in a unanimous decision.
Swan was convicted of entering the home of a Farmington Falls woman and raping her in February 1992. After the attack, Swan drove the woman to East Wilton and left her alongside a road.
The woman reached a nearby home and called police. Swan was arrested a week later.
