GREENVILLE — A series of colored drawings designed by a Dover-Foxcroft artist in cooperation with the Heart of Maine Resource Conservation and Development Area may be published in a nationwide promotion.
The images developed by Bruce Towl to describe the RC&D story are being presented to the staff of the U.S. Soil and Conservation Service in Washington, D.C., for possible use in a nationwide program to “Tell the RC&D” story,” said Timothy Washburn, director of Maine Forest Products Marketing, a Heart of Maine RC&D project.
Previous drawings developed by Towl for the Maine Forest Products Marketing Project and for a local cedar shingle mill project resulted in a positive reception and was a major element in the successful funding and starting of the Maine Forest Products Marketing, Washburn said.
The Heart of Maine RC&D serves the tri-county areas of Piscataquis, Penobscot and Somerset counties.
