NEWPORT — Two people from Corinna received head and neck injuries when a 1984 Chevrolet station wagon operated by Dorothy Mitchell crashed into the rear of a flat-bed wrecker at about 3 p.m. Monday on Route 2 in Newport.
Dorothy and Leroy Mitchell were treated at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield and released later in the day.
Their car was demolished when it slid underneath the bed of the wrecker owned by T&W Garage of Newport.
The wrecker was stopped in traffic when the accident happened, according to Newport Officer Douglas Franklin.
