A summer dance program featuring international stars and teachers will be held July 19-Aug. 13 at the Waterville Performing Arts Centre. Students may enroll in one, two, three or all four weeks of the program. Classes in Russian classical ballet will be taught by internationally renowned teachers Andrei Bossov, principal dancer and choreographer of the Kirov Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia; and Irina Lebedeva, prima ballerina of the Moscow Classical Ballet.
The program also features guest stars and teachers from Broadway teaming up with local instructors to teach tap, jazz and Broadway show dancing, as well as mime, stage make-up, and character dancing.
The work will culminate in a performance of “Sleeping Beauty Suite” and the premiere of “Peter and the Wolf,” at 8 p.m. Aug. 13 and 14, and at 2 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Waterville Opera House. For information, call the center at 872-4500.
