Lung Association sets awards lunch

AUGUSTA — The American Lung Association of Maine will hold its annual meeting and awards luncheon at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the Senator Inn in Augusta.

The keynote address at 1:15 p.m., “Tuberculosis in the Health Care Setting,” will be given by Dr. Lee Reichman, president of the American Lung Association. He is a professor of medicine and director of the pulmonary division of New Jersey Medical School. He is also chairman of the Centers for Disease Control’s National Coalition to Eliminate TB.

Awards to be made during the luncheon will include: Volunteer Recognition, Wilma Bradford of Bangor and Dr. Brinton Darlington of Augusta; Huddilston Award, Robert Brandow, Eastern Maine Medical Center; Smoke Free Maine Award, Dr. Lawrence Smith, Janie Smith and Downeast Pharmacy; Clean Air Award, Hannford Brothers, Scarborough; and Distinguished Service Award, WGME Newscenter 13.
