Maine native killed in plane crash

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Federal officials are investigating a March 3 plane crash that killed an Orlando man as he tried to land at Bay County Airport in Panama City during rain and fog.

Glen David Small, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to airport director Jeff Vickers. There were no other people aboard the twin-engine Aerostar TS60, registered to Cherokee Leasing Inc. of Orlando.

The cause of the 7:58 a.m. crash was not known, officials said.

Small was born in Houlton, Maine, Nov. 18, 1964.

A memorial service was held last Saturday at Orlando Executive Airport.
