CAMDEN — The Island Institute will sponsor the 1993 Spring Island Schools Conference on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, at the Lord Camden Inn in Camden. The theme of the conference will be “Transitions: A Chance for Growth.”
Transitions can be significant issues for island students and island schools, whether within the island school, or from island school to mainland.
The two-day conference will feature presentations, workshops, and panel discussions that will be of interest to students, teachers, parents and administrators of island schools.
Programs have been planned to address such issues as curriculum development, continuity and consistency; and preparation of students for transition to mainland schools, colleges and careers. The psychological and social impact of transitions for island students also will be addressed. Plenty of time will be set aside for questions and discussions.
