… Now that the season’s Community FoodBank is behind us, I would like to extend my thanks to all those community-conscious individuals who contributed. First, to the staff and management of WWMJ and and WDEA who spread the word on-air and off about the Community FoodBank every day for the past four weeks.
Second, to the staff at Bar Harbor Banking and Trust whose enthusiastic support made the drive fulfilling and fun for all those who participated, including themselves.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who donated a can of soup, a jar of peanut butter, a sack of potatoes, or a box of spaghetti, as well as those who sent checks. You made this year’s Community FoodBank drive a truly heartwarming success.
This is the kind of joint effort that makes me proud to be a member of our eastern Maine community. It also reflects one of the main reasons why Bar Harbor Banking and Trust Co. remains a locally owned, independent bank: so we can participate in our community in meaningful ways, and develop relationships with its people in a very direct way — person to person.
