PITTSFIELD — No charges will be filed against a group of Pittsfield juveniles in connection with a BB gun incident Monday night.
According to Pittsfield Police Officer Ron Richards, a group of juveniles driving along Peltoma Avenue thoughtlessly shot a BB gun out the window. The BB struck a 10 year-old boy in the neck who was subsequently treated at a local hospital, then released.
Richards said the incident was unintentional. “The gun wasn’t aimed. It was just a good bunch of kids doing something without thinking. They didn’t even know they struck anyone. They’ve all been down to apologize to the boy and his family, and they were very sincere. I’m sure it won’t happen again,” the officer said.
