In the Aug. 22-23 editorial titled, “Campaign ’92,” you hit the proverbial nail on the head.
But what a dream. Yes, why can’t we hear the two (presidential) candidates actually debate health care, education, a global economy, an energy policy and employment indeed!
President Bush has been weighed and found wanting. He must prove himself from this point on.
Please, no more campaigns which degenerate again into mud-slinging or dirty tricks. Enough, we say.
I hope, but seriously doubt, that the dirty, mean politics may be forgotten and meaningful debates can be held so we might make a choice based on our intellect rather than our emotions. Georgia Hunt Cushing
