Land trust plans annual meeting

DENNYSVILLE — The Quoddy Regional Land Trust will hold its annual meeting at noon Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Dennys River Sportsmen’s Club.

The picnic will be at noon, and drinks and desserts will be provided. Members of QRLT and their families and guests may choose to stroll along the riverside or attend the family field games.

At 2 p.m., Lee Sochasky of the St. Croix International Waterway Commission, and Brand Livingstone, a local historian, will discuss the past, present and future of the lower St. Croix River. After their presentation, the annual members’ meeting will be held. Members and guests will be given an update on QRLT activities for the past year, and new members of the board of trustees will be elected.

The Land Trust is a community-based organization and membership is open to anyone who shares the goal of protecting and enhancing wildlife habitat, water access and community open space in eastern Maine through private voluntary action.
