OAKLAND — Donald King, 58, of Waterville was killed in a single-car accident on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Oakland around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
According to a report filed by investigating Officer Dwayne Bickford of the Oakland Police Department, King was operating a 1992 Ford Explorer east on Kennedy Memorial Drive when he veered to the left, drove over the curbing, across several driveways and lawns before striking a tree. The investigation determined that King made no attempt to stop the vehicle.
A specific cause for the accident or King’s death was not determined. There were no passengers in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved. Bickford was assisted by Capt. Michael Tracy of the Oakland Police Department and Oakland Fire and Rescue.
