Series on cancer offered at church

ROCKPORT — “Living with Cancer” is a six-session education program being offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the John Street United Methodist Church in Camden.

Admission is free to this series which began Wednesday, May 20, and is organized by the Cancer Care Practice Group of Penobscot Bay Medical Center. The program’s purpose is to provide information to cancer patients, their families and friends about the disease.

The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17. Karen Veit, R.N., chemotherapy unit coordinator at PBMC, will present chemotherapy as a treatment for cancer. Also discussed will be radiation as a treatment for cancer.
