A parts manager for a truck-rental company was ordered to a year of home detention Friday in Bangor for his part in a truck-parts scheme.
Marshall Dodge, 41, of Brooks was sentenced Friday in Penobscot County Superior Court to five years, all but one year suspended, and four years probation. Justice Margaret Kravchuk ordered him to serve his time under the Intensive Supervision Program, meaning he will be incarcerated at home, under close monitoring, instead of in jail.
Dodge, who worked for Ryder Rental Truck-One-Way Inc., also must pay up to $25,000 in restitution, with paycheck deductions amounting to 20 percent of his gross weekly earnings.
He pleaded guilty in March to a theft charge. He and Malcolm Sawyer, owner of an East Corinth trucking company, were charged in the scheme, which continued from June to November of last year.
Dodge used purchase orders obtained from his employer to order the truck parts, then sold them to Sawyer, allegedly used them to repair his trucks. Sawyer pleaded guilty earlier this month.
