I was disgusted when I read about the Republican State Convention in the Bangor Daily News. Instead of targeting problems such as the state’s economy, (people at the convention) targeted Democrats such as John Martin and Charles Pray. The Republicans seem to think of the election process as some sort of child’s game. The welfare of the citizens of Maine is taking second seat to their Democrat bashing.
I hope they take a look at the upcoming Democratic State Convention, so they can learn what the issues are. Maybe the Democratic Convention should have been held prior to the Republican Whatever-You-Want-To-Call-It. It could have served as a role model.
The upcoming elections are a perfect opportunity for the average person to have a say in how his or her tax money is spent. You can either pay a Republican to bash a Democrat for the next few years, or you can pay a Democrat to represent your beliefs, complaints, and wishes in Augusta. Personally, I’m voting Democrat.
