High speed chase ends with arrest at Hermon

HERMON — A high-speed chase Friday night ended at a house on the Swan Road, and resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old Hermon man.

Ronald Tozier was charged with eluding a police officer, speeding 30 mph or more over the speed limit, speeding, and failure to produce evidence of insurance, according to Deputy Keith Emery of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department.

Emery said that when he attempted to stop Tozier on a speeding violation on the Newburgh Road in Hermon, Tozier sped away on his Yamaha motorcycle and led police over nine roads before Emery found him at a house on the Swan Road. The chase took 24 minutes, Emery said.

Tozier was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where bail was set at $1,000 single surety or $100 on the eluding an officer charge, and at $100 cash bail on the speeding 30 mph or more over the speed limit charge. The other two charges are traffic violations.
