ELLSWORTH — Captive Free, a national team formed and sponsored by Lutheran Youth Encounter, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Ellsworth.
The group of six young adults presents a message of oneness in Christ through concert and sing-along music, media presentations, puppetry, drama, personal word and witness.
Captive Free is a national team of Lutheran Youth Encounter, an evangelical Lutheran organization that offers ministry resources to the church. All are welcome to attend.
The team members listen, learn and share in the areas they visit by going to homes, schools, churches, correctional institutions, hospitals, nursing homes and youth conferences. The six members of the team coming to Ellsworth are from Australia, Iowa, California, Maryland and Minnesota.
Lutheran Youth Encounter, based in Minneapolis, Minn., has a special emphasis on youth ministry. It communicates the Good News of Jesus from the perspective of the Lutheran confessional tradition.
The various aspects of the ministry include: Lutheran Senior High Youth Congress and Junior High Youth Congress, Youth Fests, National Teams, International Teams, 5-Alive Camps, Spoke Folk and Youth Worker Referral Services.
