NEWPORT — The Newport Playground Committee will be holding a bottle drive in Newport and Plymouth beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, and continuing throughout the day. Members of the committee will be going door-to-door for returnable bottles. All proceeds will benefit the Newport creative playground. Playground spokesman Betty McKenzie also announced the winner of the committee’s snowmobile raffle. Reggie Trask of Newport won a 1992 Polaris Indy 440.
