Dexter Grange elects officers

DEXTER — The Dexter Grange elected new officers at its Dec. 21 meeting. Elected were: Dana Wilbur, president; Alice Hopkins, clerk; Leslie Bolstridge, secretary; Carl Hopkins, treasurer; and Stanley Bemis as a member of the board. Bolstridge, as agricultural chairman, reported on a meeting he attended on Maine lumbering and export. He also spoke of laws pending. Alice Hopkins, chairman of the Committee on Women’s Activities, said that 10 baskets would be sent to shut-ins for Christmas. A thank-you letter was read from the Mayo Regional Hospital Auxiliary for a donation to the tree lighting fund. Deputies Lucian and Ruth Savage of the Sebasticook Grange also sent a note of thanks.

The program, under the director of Lecturer Hester Nadeau, consisted of the re-dedication ceremony from the Grange Lecturer’s Handbook. Participants were Flora Thompson, Helen Black, Ruth Pingree, Gertrudge McLaughlin and Bolstridge.
