ROCKLAND — The Rockland District High School Chemical Health Awareness Team recently sponsored a Poster and Essay Contest that pupils in SAD 5, grades five, six, seven and eight, were eligible to enter.
The theme for this contest was “Chem Free-The Way To Be.” Student members of the Chemical Health Awareness Team (CHAT) acted as judges for this event.
More than 100 entries were received from the area schools. The winners were:
grade five: Owls Head Central School, Julia Mahar; McLain School, Eric Grant; South School, Nate Atwell; North School, Corey Davis and Freedom Hamlin. grade six: Rockland District Middle School, Aimee Billings, Mary Norton and Travis Reynolds.
First place winners received a $25 gift certificate to Goldsmiths Sporting Goods and second place winners received at $10 gift certificate also to Goldsmiths Sporting Goods.
All students in MSAD 5 did an exceptional job with all their entries and picking the winners was a difficult task.
