ST. JOHN PLANTATION — A motor vehicle that was being backed into a travel lane of Route 161 was struck by a truck Wednesday afternoon, a police officer reported.
Maine State Trooper Dana Thibeault said Shirley M. Veeber, 56, of St. John Plantation was backing from her driveway when her vehicle was struck by a truck driven by Doyle A. Jandreau of St. Francis. Jandreau was driving in a southerly direction at the time the Veeber vehicle was backed into his travel lane.
Damage to Veeber’s 1987 station wagon was estimated at about $6,000. The truck, owned by M and M Forest Products of St. Francis, had about $100 in damage.
There were no injuries.
