A clarification of Maine American Legion baseball rules has resulted in a change in the Zone 1 American Legion standings.
The clarification was reported by Jim White, manager of Brewer American Legion Baseball Inc., after consulting with Maine American Legion Baseball Commissioner Lionel Koss and Zone 1 Commissioner Dennis Damon.
Section 11, subsection C of the Department of Maine baseball rules and regulations for 1991 states that if a team drops from the league, all games played up until that point count and all remaining games involving the departing team shall be credited as forfeit victories.
Pittsfield dropped out of the Zone 1 ranks after losing its opener to Skowhegan. Thus, Skowhegan will be credited with three more wins and all other teams will receive four victories via forfeit.
