Roland, Evelyn Roger Fund provides books for library

JONESPORT — Nine children’s books suitable for several age groups have been purchased from the Roland and Evelyn Roger Fund for Jonesport’s Peabody Memorial Library. They include: “Apple Tree,” “Color My World,” “Firebrat,” “Game of Baseball,” “Merry Christmas, Thomas,” “Monster Tales of Native Americans,” “Peter and the Wolf,” “The Scythe, The Rooster and the Cat” and “The Song.”

New books for adults include: “Successful Direct Marketing Methods,” “Gold Plated House Plants Expert, How to Care For House Plants,” “Gone to Soldiers,” “Misery,” by Steven King, and “Sunk by the Bismark.”

“The library has received a number of back issues of National Geographic and some indexes as a result of this summer’s appeal. We are most grateful,” said Barbara Hall, librarian at Peabody. “A list of issues that are still missing is available at the desk.” Hall also noted receipt of several lots of miscellaneous donated books.
